We’re unique. But don’t just take our word for it, read what our clients have to say.

Our Services

Knowledgeable, highly-trained staff

The staff at Avian Suites are not your typical pet sitters. Every Avian Care Specialist has received specialty training in the areas of avian husbandry, behavior, and nutrition.

Each Avian Care Specialist has gone through an intensive hands-on training process (including completing online training offered by the American Federation of Aviculture), is considered a Level II Aviculturist and is comfortable working with companion birds of all species. All staff members are required to earn additional CEU credits in husbandry, diet, training and more annually.

We are always more than happy to assist clients with any questions that they may have regarding companion bird care.

Accommodations and free time

At Avian Suites we provide individual suites for our feathered guests to ensure the safety of our boarders and to decrease the risk of disease transmission.

Each bird or household of birds, is housed in one of our seventeen suites. We even have an extra-large suite to accommodate larger flocks.

At no other facility will your bird have all day out of cage time with no worry of harm from other boarding birds. Birds in the same household may only be out one at a time if they display aggressive behavior to one another.

Quality social interaction

Unlike hiring a pet sitter or asking a neighbor to stop in feed and clean up after your bird, Avian Suites provides our feathered guests with qualified staff onsite for at minimum nine hours a day, seven days a week.

Our staff spends quality time with every bird that stays with us, and we’re in and out of the rooms all throughout the day. We take pride in learning each bird’s personality, knowing their special toys and treats, and playing their favorite games.

Windows in each room allow us constant visual access, and opportunities to check on each bird.

Daily report cards

Even though you will be away from your feathered companion, you will still be up to date on their activities with our daily emailed report cards.

First-time clients take great comfort in receiving updates on how their bird is settling in on its first visit. Long-time clients are amused by their bird’s latest antics.

Want to comment on anything we write in your report card? Have a question about something we have written? Want us to relay a message to your bird? Please do! We review and respond to email communications daily, and love keeping our clients updated.

A healthy, homemade breakfast

Every morning we serve our feathered guests a fresh breakfast of various organic vegetables and grains.

Our house mix of fresh food is made onsite and chopped extremely fine so that birds of all sizes can enjoy it. Each batch we make varies slightly from the last as we try out different grains and organic vegetables.

Sometimes even birds who usually shy away from fresh food at home will give our food a try. If your bird ends up loving our fresh breakfast, we are happy to provide you with the instructions to make it at home!

Other services

The health and well-being of each bird is very important to us at Avian Suites. Because of this, we weigh all birds who will be boarding with us at check-in. If a bird isn’t step-up trained or is uneasy with the scale, we are more than willing to work with them, if an owner requests.

We also provide showers and baths as a regular part of the routine at Avian Suites. We employ handheld misters to shower birds from above simulating gentle rainfall. We even have a hair dryer if your bird loves a good blow dry!

However, if a bird is uncomfortable receiving a shower, or seems uncomfortable with any other situation, we never force any bird to do anything that it doesn't want to do.
